This concert will take place at Time is The New Space.

Leading up to North Sea Jazz festival, BIRD, North Sea Round Town, Time is The New Space and Sundown Recordings are joining forces on Thursday 10 July to present a special night full of live music at Time is The New Space, on the Hofplein side of the iconic Schieblok.

An evening where music, culture, and connection come together, featuring performances by NIA, MAIN and Mo Wright, three artists united by shared band members, influences, and a love for jazz. Expect soulful vocals, deep grooves, and progressive blends of hip-hop, R&B and experimental jazz. Look forward to an open, accessible setting where everyone is welcome. Easy to reach, but more importantly, a place where you'll feel at home straight away.

This event is part of Alternate Takes, BIRD’s initiative that explores the future of jazz and related genres. Spotlighting new talent and fresh perspectives.

About the artists:

NIA
NIA is a cellist and vocalist from Sofia, Bulgaria. She merges jazz, R&B, and her classical background into a rich and emotional sound. After performing in Europe, Latin America, and the Middle East, and collaborating with the likes of Burna Boy, Emeli Sandé and Bill Laurance (Snarky Puppy), she released her debut EP “Freefall” in 2024. Expect cinematic layers, warm grooves, and vocals that go straight to your heart.

MAIN
From poetic rapper to charismatic frontman; MAIN is active as an MC, host, sound designer, and actor. His journey began at indie hip-hop label VanIeder1, followed by his time with the Funky Organizers and the award-winning project MCJR & Th’Acquisition. With the release of the LEEF:TIJD EP (and an LP on the way), he combines personal stories with a soulful, energetic performance.

Mo Wrights
Producer, DJ, curator, and co-founder of Steppin’ Into Tomorrow, Mo Wrights brings a unique blend of jazz, house, and soulful storytelling. His sets can be heard in clubs like De School, at festivals such as Lowlands, and on international radio stations like WorldWide FM. With releases on labels such as Wicked Wax and Super Sonic Jazz, he weaves styles and eras together into a recognizable, warm sound.
