Gizmo Varillas live at BIRD, Saturday 03 May 2025
Spanish-born, UK-based singer-songwriter Gizmo Varillas brings his tropical folk-pop to BIRD Rotterdam on Saturday, May 3, 2025, as part of his brand-new tour. Expect sun-soaked melodies, infectious Latin and Afrobeat rhythms, and heartfelt lyrics that make you feel good and think.
Known for his genre-blending sound, Varillas crafts songs that fuse Paul Simon’s melodic charm, Bob Marley’s soul-stirring simplicity, and John Frusciante’s guitar finesse. With deep grooves and global influences, his music defies borders.
Following the success of his third album Out Of The Darkness, Gizmo has made waves across the global indie scene from soundtracking hit shows on Netflix and Apple TV, to co-writing chart-topping albums in the UK (Jack Savoretti’s Europiana) and Canada (Bobby Bazini’s Move Away). He's also known for iconic collaborations with Tony Allen and Baio (Vampire Weekend), and his music gets airplay from LA to Tokyo.
